The data entered into POBITS is perpetual but there are reasons why it should not be relied on as an official record. For one, the content may change. If we add or change questions or sections or any other aspect of the questionnaire, future reports will not be accurate i.e., some responses may be blank. It is good to keep and refer to this information for many reasons. For one, it's good for long term metrics. Also, you will want to keep the information should a candidate re-apply for a position at a later time.

But for the reasons stated, you should not think of the electronic data in POBITS has your official record. Your best official record of the investigation is the Full Background Investigation Report.
