Inviting References

Inviting References

There are 10 types of references in POBITS.

In the Relatives Investigative Area:

  • Parents
  • Spouses
  • Siblings
  • Children

In the References Investigative Area:

  • Personal References
  • Secondary References

In the Employment Investigative Area:

  • Employers
  • Other Agencies to which the Candidate has Applied

In the Residence Investigative Area:

  • Landlords
  • Neighbors

There are four ways to invite a reference:

  1. Use the Invite action link associated with each reference.
  2. Invite all references in the group i.e., All Parents or All Secondary References.
  3. Invite all references in the investigation area i.e., all Relatives, all Reference, all Employers, etc.
  4. Invite all contacts in the investigation, which does exactly that.

Note that when you use method #1, POBITS will always invite the reference. With any of the other options, POBITS only invites those that have not been previously invited. You can see the invited date associated with each reference. If a date is present, no invite is sent except when using option #1.

So you should note that you can use options 2, 3, or 4 anytime with no concern that you will be re-inviting someone.
