Candidate Status

Candidate Status

Candidates can have the following status:

  1. Preliminary
  2. Active
  3. Inactive
  4. Hired
  5. Withdrew
  6. Disqualified
  7. Permanent Disqualification

Candidates do not necessarily progress through all statuses. However, all candidates begin as Preliminary. When an investigator is assigned, the status will automatically change to Active if it is currently Preliminary. This is the only time that POBITS automatically changes the candidate's status.

For Preliminary candidates, no Supplemental forms or Personal History Statements are completed. When the candidate's status changes to Active, both are created at that time. Note that is an investigator is assigned when the candidate is created, then the candidate's status is automatically set to Active and the PHS and Supplemental forms are created.
